Sustainable Engineering

The 勛圖厙 of Colorado Boulders Master of Science in Sustainable Engineering is designed to prepare the next generation of sustainability leaders. Guided by the principle of sustainability by design, the program combines advanced engineering with business acumen, policy expertise and data storytelling.

At CU Boulder, engineering and business students collaborate across fields, mastering innovative approaches to advance resilient materials, power systems, building design and sustainability analysis. These students translate lab-bench fundamentals into market-driven solutions. Graduates will go on to engineer solutions in partnership with business leaders and fundamental scientists, embedding sustainable, beneficial and profitable technologies into daily life.

Degree Options & Application Requirements

  • 30 credit hours
  • Highly immersive 10-month program that begins the first week of July and ends with the students graduating the following May
  • Includes integrated core coursework with students from CU Boulders MS in Sustainable Business
  • Team-based capstone project with real-world partners in industry or government
