Incoming Student Experiences

Every student entering the College of Arts and Sciences at CU Boulder has three options, in addition to the traditional living experience, to enhance and customize their onboarding experience:Ìý

  • Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program (MASP).
  • Living and Learning Communities (LLCs).
  • Residential Academic Programs (RAPs).

Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program (MASP)Ìý

The Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program (MASP) is a multidisciplinary, inclusive academic community in the College of Arts and Sciences comprised of engaged students dedicated to pursuing academic excellence at CU Boulder.Ìý

Our MASP community is dedicated to advancing equity and belonging, and we work to acknowledge and directly address conditions that have created disparate outcomes for undergraduate students at CU Boulder, including outcomes experienced by first-generation students, those from rural or small towns, low-income students and others historically excluded from higher education.Ìý

Residential academic programs (RAPs)

RAPS are elective programs in which students live together in a residence hall, share common academic interests, participate in specially tailored small first-year classes, have unique access to faculty, and engage in co-curricular activities that reinforce the program’s academic theme.

In the College of Arts and Sciences, there are seven options to choose from that focus on everything from the arts to pre-health.

Living and learning communities (LLCs)

LLCs provide a residence hall environment to students in which participants live together in same hall and engage in activities that reinforce a particular academic or special-interest theme.
