Kirsten Schuchman biography
Kirsten Schuchman serves as CU Boulder’s associate vice chancellor for external partnerships in the Office of Government and Community Engagement.Ìý
On behalf of the chancellor and senior leadership, Schuchman identifies, develops and manages external relationships and collaborations that support the campus’s mission of public impact of research and the achievement of campus strategic initiatives. Schuchman oversees the campus’s legislative development and feedback process and works to build and enable internal and external ecosystems in support of university and community public policy goals.
Prior to coming to CU Boulder in 2017, Schuchman lobbied on behalf of the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado system at the state legislature for over 13 years, learning the power of storytelling, advocacy and influence to help bring the benefit of higher education to all of Colorado.
Earlier in her career, Schuchman worked in academic administration at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Michigan, where she received her master’s degree in higher education administration. She received her bachelor's degree in government relations from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Virginia. Schuchman is a Colorado native who loves to spend time with her family and friends enjoying the outdoors and all that her great state has to offer.
