Need help with your data? We're here for you! We host open, free consultation hours to help you with your data-intensive research needs. Come with your application, code, or general questions and speak to our experts on research data management, digital humanities, geospatial data, statistical support from LISA, and research computing.

Consults are open to all – from undergrad to faculty and beyond.

• Consultations will take place on��Tuesdays from 12-1 p.m. in-person at Norlin Library, room E206 or via Zoom, and��Thursdays from 1-2 p.m.��via��Zoom only.

• CRDDS provides support for statistical questions through our partnership with the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis (LISA).

It's International Love Data Week! This year's theme is Where's the Data? The goal is to connect everyone – from data newcomers to veterans – with the training and resources they need to make progress on issues close to their hearts. While there are data events happening around the world (), at CU Boulder we're offering unique events looking at data close to our hearts.��

• Once again, we're holding the Buffalization Data Visualization challenge! In celebration of CU Boulder's 150th anniversary we're inviting you to use a dataset of historic campus buildings to create a data visualization with your preferred software or tools. (You can even hand make or draw a visualization!) The deadline to enter is Sunday, February 15th. For more information visit our website.
• Today (February 9 at 1:30) we're offering a workshop Growth Not Violence: Collecting, Interpreting & Sharing Data about Trans & Nonbinary People. Data about trans people can provide insights that improve the well-being of the community, and encourage widespread integration with society; this data can also inadvertently cause profound harm. Attendees will consider the whole data lifecycle from research planning to presentation.
• for a virtual hackathon co-hosted by the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) and the Environmental Data Science Innovation & Impact Lab (ESIIL)! This event will provide an introduction to the NSF Harnessing the Data Revolution (HDR) Machine Learning Challenge, including a virtual space to form a team and get started with a submission. ��The goal of the challenge is to predict out-of-domain biological, ecological, and environmental data. The challenge closes Feb 22, 2026.��

Join the Center for Research Data & Digital Scholarship from Tuesday, March 17th - Thursday, March 19th, 10am-4pm each day, for our Research Data Foundations Camp designed specifically with graduate students in mind (although all are welcome). The Camp will provide a gentle introduction to data and programming-related research tools that will increase users' access to cutting-edge methods as they pursue their programs and research. No previous experience in coding or programming is required! Those who complete the optional assignments will be eligible to receive CU Boulder’s Research Data Foundations micro-credential. This is a virtual event that will be happening on Zoom.

The “” project, co-led by CRDDS researchers, released its “”. Funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable Open Science (FAIROS) Research Coordination Network (RCN) program (NSF Awards 2226396, 2226397, 2226398), the FAIR Facilities and Instruments RCN project is led by a collaboration between the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research, CU Boulder, and Florida State �Թ���. The project team developed their recommendations from discussions at three in-person workshops and many other conversations with a wide range of communities over the last three years. These recommendations provide an important step in advancing the use of persistent identifiers (PIDs) for research facilities, platforms, and instruments to enable open and transparent science, discoverability of research instrumentation, and attribution for research facilities and the people who operate them.

The National AI Workshop provides a unique opportunity for researchers, educators, and students to learn how to integrate AI tools in research and classroom settings.
Registration is free for the day and a half-long event, which is sponsored by and and �Թ��� of Colorado, Boulder. Space is limited to 150 participants. We anticipate receiving more applications to attend than available spots.
Travel support may be available for hotel accommodations and economy flights for those traveling from outside a 50-mile radius of the event location.
