Dr. Onofrietti Magrassi was born and raised in Mexico City, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology and began her career supporting families and students in both educational and clinical settings.
She received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Oregon. During her doctoral training, her research focused on self-regulation, parenting, caregiver mental health, and the intergenerational transmission of trauma, with a particular emphasis on working with Latinx communities. As a bilingual and bicultural scholar, Dr. Onofrietti Magrassi is dedicated to advancing culturally responsive, strengths-based interventions that expand mental health access and promote well-being among underserved populations.
At the Crown Institute, she leads and collaborates on community-partnered research initiatives centered on maternal mental health, peer-led mental health supports, and youth well-being. She contributes to the development, evaluation, and dissemination of accessible, evidence-based programs—including peer-led and school-based models—designed to reduce barriers and improve access to mental health supports.
Prior to joining the Crown Institute, she completed her school psychology pre-doctoral internship in Springfield Public Schools, where she worked in close partnership with bilingual students, families, and school staff.
