Rania Elmalky is a professor of practice in the Journalism Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, where she teaches video journalism, newswriting, multimedia storytelling and documentary production. She also serves as an editor at Egab, a platform supporting journalists from the Middle East and Africa in publishing internationally.

Elmalky holds a Master of Fine Arts in documentary production and studies from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of North Texas, and a master’s degree in journalism (International) with distinction from Westminster ³Ô¹ÏÍø in London, where she was a Chevening scholar. Her career transitioned to documentary filmmaking and academia after a distinguished tenure as a reporter and editor, including six years as editor-in-chief of Cairo-basedÌýDaily News Egypt, then the local publishing partner of theÌýInternational Herald Tribune.
