Laura Winkiel’s research interests include modernism, Global Anglophone literature, postcolonial literature, and environmental theories and practices. She has written articles forÌýModernism/Modernity,ÌýModern Fiction Studies,ÌýJournal of Modern Literature,ÌýandÌýSafundi, as well as for many essay collections. She is author ofÌýModernism and the Middle Passage (Columbia UP, 2025) that argues for a media ecology approach to reading with the sea;ÌýModernism: The Basics,Ìýa global approach to modernism (Routledge, 2017, 2nd edition forthcoming);ÌýModernism, Race, and ManifestosÌý(Cambridge, 2008) and co-editor ofÌýGeomodernisms: Race, Modernism, ModernityÌý(Indiana, 2005). Her current book project is a media ecology of archives, provisionally titledÌýComparative Postcolonial Archives.
