Dr. Erik Nesse is an assistant research scientist at the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS) at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Maryland, College Park, supporting research in human and social sciences. His research interests lie primarily in addressing challenges in the human domain at the intersection of computational linguistics, natural language processing, and the humanities. Before joining ARLIS, Dr. Nesse received his MA and PhD from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado at Boulder in French and taught at Washington ³Ô¹ÏÍø in Saint Louis while developing projects and tools applying computational approaches to problems in humanities research and second language instruction. Dr. Nesse taught French language, literature, and cinema while at Washington ³Ô¹ÏÍø.
