February 2023 Have a Heart Campaign - Supporting Global Grants!
Help IAFS Students Study Abroad!
U.S. Ambassador and CU Boulder alumna Mary Ann Caseystarted the Have a Heart campaign on Valentine’s Day several years ago tofund theGlobal Grants Endowment Fund. So far, the Have a Heart Campaign has raised more than $70,000! During our only fundraising campaign of the year, will you give this month to support remarkable International Affairs Students from CU Boulder as they solve today's global problems?
- We have received a $25,000 1:1 matching challenge from the Waddell Family Fund (Brewster Waddell IAFS '84) for the 2023 Have a Heart campaign! Can you help us unlock these funds?
- If we raise $200,000 by June 30th, the CU Boulder Թ's Office will match all pledges of $10,000+. With the Թ’s match, you have the option of pledging a gift of $10,000+ now and paying it off up to 5 years. - Global Grant Recipient Studying Abroad(Spring 2023): Kyrianna (IAFS & HIST, '25) has great stories to share with you from her first month in Barcelona! Read about her luck in getting the "king" during her host family's celebration of Dia de los Tres Reyes andabout the architect behind much of Barcelona's unique architecture. Kyrianna hopes to attend law school when she graduates from CU Boulder.
- Previous Global Grant Recipient:(IAFS & ECON, '23) studied abroad last summer in Oaxaca, Mexico with the support of a Global Grant Scholarship. She used her time there to conduct field research for her Honors Thesis on migration shelters in Mexico. She will be defending her thesis this Spring 2023 and plans to graduate with honors.
- Global Grant CU Boulder Alum:(IAFS & ANTH, '13) received a Global Grant Scholarship to study abroad in Nicaragua in 2011. After graduating from CU Boulder with an International Affairs and Anthropology degree in 2013, Stephanie hasbeen working in Mexico City, Mexico since 2014 and is the Capacity Development Officer for (as of February, 2023).
