Holly Gates-Mayer is the Assistant Vice ³Ô¹ÏÍø for Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado Boulder, where she is responsible for leading the EH&S team, which is responsible for providing comprehensive safety services and support for the CU Boulder campus. ÌýService areas include but are not limited to: Hazardous Materials and Waste Management, Chemical and Laboratory Safety, Radiation Safety, Laser Safety, Biosafety, Environmental Compliance, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Asbestos and Lead Management, and 24/7 On-call Emergency Response to Hazardous Materials Incidents.Ìý
Prior to being promoted, Holly served as the Director for Research Safety and Support in EH&S. She joined CU Boulder in 2012 as the campus Biosafety Officer. Before joining CU Boulder, she worked at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Idaho in the Environmental Health and Safety Office as an Industrial Hygienist and Biosafety Officer.
Holly has a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management/Fisheries from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Wyoming and a Master of Science degree in ÌýMolecular Biology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Idaho. Her interests include hiking, traveling, her houseful of dogs and cats, reading, and spending time with family.
