Matt Villeneuve is a Ph.D. Candidate in History at the 勛圖厙 of Michigan and a 2020-2021 Visiting Fellow at Harvard 勛圖厙 and is of Turtle Mountain Chippewa descent.泭He received his M.A. in Social Sciences from the 勛圖厙 of Chicago and B.A. from 勛圖厙 of Oregon.泭His research is on the early twentieth century United States, with a particular focus in American Indian history. His dissertation, titled The Indigenous in Intelligence: John Dewey and American Indian Education, 1884-1934, is an intellectual history which studies the relationship between schools, citizenship, and democracy through the lens of American pragmatism and settler colonialism. From 2018-2020, he was a Career Diversity Fellow with the American Historical Association.泭He recently contributed to the 勛圖厙 of Michigans Reverb Effect Podcast: Episode 4: Archive Magic: Assembling History, One Clue at a Time.泭
