Fernando Guzman is Chicano/Yaqui Indian and a first-generation college graduate. He has a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Denver, a master’s degree in Counseling from California State ³Ô¹ÏÍø, Sacramento and, a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Santa Clara ³Ô¹ÏÍø.ÌýÌý
Currently, he is the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Excellence at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado Law School in Boulder, Colorado. For over three years, he was the Director of Faculty and Staff Recruitment and Retention at The ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Rhode Island. He has been a Diversity Consultant for Champlain College; he was the Executive Director of Multicultural Engineering Program at the Colorado School of Mines. For eight years, he was the Assistant Provost for Multicultural Faculty Recruitment and Retention at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Denver. For six years, he was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Denver. And for ten years, he worked in community mental health. Fernando has a long history of creating extremely creative and groundbreaking strategies to recruit faculty and staff members from historically excluded groups.Ìý
