Move-in/Move-out Dates

All Graduate & Family Housing leases expire every July 1. It is renewable as long as the primary leaseholder meets eligibility requirements set forth by the university and shows full-time affiliation for the upcoming fall semester if they are a student. Postdoctoral Researchers are eligible to live in Graduate & Family housing for up to five calendar years.

Residents can move out of Graduate & Family Housing at any time, provided a 30-day Notice of Intent to Vacate is given by the primary leaseholder. The primary leaseholder is responsible for the rent of the remaining days in the apartment. Additionally, if the resident is vacating the apartment prior to the lease expiration date, there may be a lease break fee equal to one month’s worth of rent charged in addition to the rent due..

Check-In

Contact your resident manager within two weeks of signing your lease to schedule a walk-through. Your resident manager will come to your apartment to complete the check-in form with you and review the condition of your apartment. Damage such as nail holes, chipped tiles, burned countertops, or worn and discolored carpet areas should be noted on the form. Dripping faucets, closet doors off the track, torn window screens, and other items should also be noted so you can request repair service on them.
