Combine that with over 1.1 million Buff Bus trips, and CU Boulder’s bus and transit programs continue to be the backbone of our sustainable transportation efforts.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p></div><div><h4><span lang="EN-US">Highlights</span></h4></div><div><ul><li><span lang="EN-US">CU Buff Bus team combined the Will Vill, Will Vill Limited and Bear Creek Express into a single new route and implemented “Bump and Go” and “Breakers” on Will Vill operations, dropping headways from 6 to 11 minutes down to 4.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Launch of the Buff Ride, a convenient, app-based, on-demand campus transit option which allows riders to request rides between eight designated stops on the CU Boulder campuses.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Buff Bus added two new Battery Electric Buses to the fleet and oversaw production of two more, with delivery scheduled for summer 2026.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">RTD’s re-established the Flatiron Flyer express (FF2), the FF4 and the AB2 to the airport helping increase CU ridership.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span><span>&nbsp;</span></li></ul><div><div><h4><span lang="EN-US">Trends&nbsp;</span></h4></div><div><ul><li><span lang="EN-US">Ridership and total boardings rose by more than 8,000 trips over 2022-2023 numbers, from 2.14 million to 2.95 million, but continue to be far below pre-Covid numbers.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Total bus pass "unique users" are also up, from 5,043 in 2022-2023 to 5,709 in 2025.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Around 5,000 users are considered “regular users”, taking between 50 to 200 trips annually.</span></li><li><span lang="EN-US">Over 2,000 CU transit riders take the bus for the majority of their commutes, taking over 675,000 trips annually! New fleet EVs were added by the Distribution Center, the Environmental Center, and the first electric trash truck order was placed. We found that 52% of eligible employees used their bus pass, or 5,043 distinct users. The graph below shows annual pass usage by employees based on frequency.</p><ul><li>Top users: There are around <strong>1,075 commuters</strong> (10% of all employees) who either ride every week or are considered transit-reliant. This is a combination of the employees riding over 200 times a year (273 commuters) with those riding 51-200 times a year (802 commuters).</li><li>Semi-regular users: Considering those who ride monthly or less frequently, there are <strong>close to 4000 employees</strong> who use the bus, but not for a regular commute.</li></ul><p>Try integrating bus travel into your daily commute with the <a href="https://transitapp.com/" rel="nofollow">Transit app</a>, and gain access to real-time location tracking for CU Boulder’s Buff Buses, RTD, HOP, B-cycle and more.</p></div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="ucb-article-content ucb-striped-content"> <div class="container"> <div class="paragraph paragraph--type--article-content paragraph--view-mode--default"> <div class="ucb-article-text" itemprop="articleBody"> <div><h2>Moving Forward in 2025</h2><p>In 2025 and beyond, we will continue our efforts to expand transportation and mobility access in line with Climate Action Plan goals for Scope 3 emissions.
