This semester, the CWA Speaker Series will host two talks on the CU Boulder campus. The first will feature Daniel Traub, NYC-based filmmaker and photographer on Oct. 27. Then on Nov. 3, the CWA will host Vice President of Data Strategy for Twitter Chris Moody. Both events are free and open to students and the community.

This week, Oct. 24 to Oct. 30, is International Open Access Week, and the �Թ��� Libraries and the Open Science Interest Group are co-hosting several events on campus. This year’s theme “Open in Action” is about taking concrete steps to open up research and scholarship to students, researchers and the general public.

James Bailey’s work examines maps and mapping as both objects and acts by exploring the systems and conventions of depicting, charting, categorizing and interpreting our environment and experiences through both traditional and experimental printmaking processes. Lecture is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m.

David Korevaar, College of Music, and Thomas T. Veblen, Geography Department, have been selected as recipients of the 2016 Distinguished Research Lectureship, which is among the highest honors bestowed by the faculty upon a faculty member at CU Boulder.

Mojola will show how the entanglement of love, money, and the transformation of girls into "consuming women" lies at the heart of women’s coming-of-age and health crises.
