In today's meeting, the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado Board of Regents approved a new master of science degree and named Bernard Amadei a Distinguished Professor. They also heard updates on the university budget and financial aid, and recognized outgoing board members as Regents Emeritus.
As we all know, Tuesday, Nov. 8, is election day. For many of you, this might be your first opportunity to take part in an election. How exciting! And as Buffs we pride ourselves in being engaged citizens, and that includes exercising our right to vote.
The ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado Boulder named Gregory Atkins as director of the Bursar’s Office, effective Oct. 10.
CU Boulder ³Ô¹ÏÍøÂ Phil DiStefano addressed a full house this morning in the Glenn Miller Ballroom for his annual "State of the Campus" address. Members of the CU community, along with those watching the Livestream broadcast, heard an update on the campus' progress on his three strategic priority areas, and how these priorities are connected to the Flagship 2030 goals.
The ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado has been undergoing a system-wide effort to streamline and improve the its Finance (FIN), Human Capital Management (HCM) and other systems, which had not been updated in roughly a decade.
On Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 8 a.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom, ³Ô¹ÏÍø DiStefano will offer his eighth State of the Campus address to faculty, staff, students and the CU Boulder community. The ³Ô¹ÏÍø will address the evolution of the campus’ Flagship 2030 vision and strategy and how that relates to his top three priorities. He will also discuss key successes and challenges the campus faces.
As we come back together after a tough day on campus, I again extend my appreciation to all of our community members who stepped up and made a difference in each other’s lives yesterday.
Today we experienced a threatening situation in the Folsom Field Champions Center. Later in the day, a number of calls were made to police dispatch regarding unconfirmed reports of an active threat at three separate locations. I thank everyone who responded quickly and calmly to the CU Boulder Alert regarding today’s incident.
The city of Boulder and the county are working on an update of the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan, which guides development in the valley. Part of that may include a proposal to annex a 308-acre parcel of land south of the city that could support the university’s long-term growth needs. On Monday, city and county officials will host an open house to give the community a chance to learn more about the plan update and to provide input.
At the conclusion of a successful internal search, Senior Vice ³Ô¹ÏÍø Kelly Fox has today named Katherine Erwin Chief Human Resources Officer for the ³Ô¹ÏÍø of Colorado Boulder.
