Jacob Van Ek Scholars Award
°Õ³ó±ðÌýJacob Van Ek Scholars Award, one of the College of Arts & Sciences’ highest honors, is awarded each spring to select undergraduates in the college. The award recognizes superior academic achievement and outstanding contributions to CU Boulder and the surrounding community through service, work and/or volunteering.
To be eligible for the award, students must:
- Have a declared major in the College of Arts & Sciences
- Have a cumulative CU GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Not have won the award previously
- Be nominated by a CU faculty or staff member
Nominators will contact the student to begin the process. If a student feels they are a strong contender, they should reach out to a faculty or staff member who may nominate them. All undergraduate students are eligible although juniors and seniors will be given stronger consideration.
What to expect
- Early February: Call for nominations are sent to A&S Departments.
- Late February to early March: Applications are due.
- Mid April: Award notifications are sent out.
Awarded students will receiveÌýan Amazon Gift Card (estimated at $200) and be invited to attend the Honors Convocation in the spring.
