Graduation Ceremony

CU Graduation and Recognition Ceremonies

CU Boulder Campus
CU Boulder hosts one commencement ceremony in May to celebrate the academic year’s class of graduates. Whether graduating in the fall, spring or summer semester, students are encouraged to participate in the commencement ceremony. The university-wide event is a ceremony for all campus graduates and features the Թ and other special guests. The commencement ceremony is an academic ceremony; students must wear graduation regalia - approved caps and gowns.Students do not walk across the stage.

Spring 2026
Theceremonywill begin at 8:30 a.m. MDT Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Folsom Field stadium. No tickets or registration are required for guests of the graduating students. Livestream links with captions in English and Spanish will be available on the homepage the morning of the commencement ceremony.

Biomedical Engineering (BME) Program
The BME Program hosts one recognition ceremony in the spring to celebrate our graduates whether graduating in the spring, summer or fall.Graduates are recognized individually by name and take the traditional walk across the stage to receive their diploma cover. Graduates also must wear their regalia for the BMERecognitionCeremony.

Spring 2026
The BME ceremony will start promptly at 12:00 p.m. MDT Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Թ Memorial Center's Glenn Miller Ballroom.The UMCis located at 1669 Euclid Ave, Boulder.
Reception to follow on the UMC Terrace.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Graduates should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start time.
Livestream links will be provided to students and will be posted here closer to the event date. Please note this event is not recorded.

Parking
Parking on-campus, including at parking meters and pay station lots, is FREE on the day of Commencement and on all Recognition Ceremony Days. All campus parking lots will be open on a “space available” basis for public parking during commencement. Designated ADA-accessible parking lots for Recognition Ceremonies differ from those designated for the Commencement ceremony. Lots designated for ADA parking for recognition ceremonies arelots 204, 380 and 440 West. A disability placard is not required for these lots. All other campus parking lots have ADA spaces designated within. College of Engineering & Applied Science
The Engineering Ceremony celebrates the fall graduation of College of Engineering and Applied Science students. Graduates will be recognized individually by name and take the traditional walk across the stage to receive their diploma cover. Graduation regalia is required. The BME Program doesn't have a Recognition Ceremony in the Fall. If you are unable to attend the Spring Biomedical Engineering Recognition Ceremony, you are encouraged to participate in the College’s Recognition Ceremony.

Fall 2026
Location and time TBD, but typically scheduled for early December in Macky Auditorium.

Diplomas
The graduation ceremony is optional and is not an official confirmation of your degree completion. You must apply to graduate throughto officially earn your diploma from CU Boulder. You can also refer to information at theRegistrar’s websiteor contact your advisor.
