Los Seis Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Los Seis Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund supports students whose lived experiences and backgrounds strengthen economic, racial, and ethnic representation at the Թ of Colorado Boulder. Recipients are committed to building a just society by identifying unjust systems and transforming them to work equitably for all people.
This fund honors Una Jaakola, Reyes Martínez, and Neva Romero, killed on May 27, 1974, when a car bomb exploded at Chautauqua Park, and Francisco Dougherty, Heriberto Terán, and Florencio Granado, killed on May 29, 1974, in a second bombing near 28th and Canyon that also injured Antonio Alcántar. These six Chicano activists, Los Seis de Boulder, fought for parity, representation, and inclusion of Chicano students and other students of color at CU Boulder. Their courage remains a call to action for educational justice.
By giving to this fund, you help carry forward their vision, removing barriers to education, affirming the presence of historically excluded students, and investing in future leaders committed to dismantling inequities.
