All new first-year students must take the Math Readiness Exam unless you have ///transfer credits already processed and visible in your degree audit.

Your Math Placement, determined in part by your Math Readiness Test score, will guide the enrollment of your math course for your first semester. There are practice tests available throughÌýthe Applied Math exam archive, as well as in Canvas before the official test, and these exercises and prep courses to help youÌýprepare for the Math Readiness Test.ÌýThere are also workshops with peer advisors on choosing the best math class for you.

If you're still waiting on AP or IB test scores, or transfer credits at the time of your enrollment, you will be able to update your schedule when enrollment opens back up on August 13.

All incoming students must attend New Student Orientation (NSO) in June or July. During NSO you will learn more about life as a CU Buff, meet with academic advisors, and register for fall classes.

On your , you will see the Online Experience (Summer/Fall 2026) tile. The Online Experience includes information on Health and Wellness, Community Equity, Advising, and Enrolling in Classes. At minimum, all new first-year and transfer students will need to complete the Advising & Enrolling in Classes modules before they can gain access to class enrollment.

Students interested in preparing for enrollment and their first semester prior to New Student Orientation can review the "Preparing for Your First Semester" presentation, recorded by the ME Academic Advising Team.

You will see one or two pre-enrolled classes on your schedule before New Student Orientation. You can choose the remaining classes to add to your schedule in Buff Portal, through the Classes and Registration card, and putting them in your shopping cart before your Orientation session. We highly recommend registering for and attending an Enrollment Essentials workshop before Orientation.
