Our Peer Mentor Leaders are at the heart of the Bridge Scholars Program, providing both academic and social support to help first-generation students succeed at CU Boulder. Each mentor is a proud first-generation college student, equipped with the knowledge, resources and experience needed to guide mentees through their transition to life at CU Boulder.

With an average GPA of 3.2Ìýand a growing team each year, our mentors represent a wide range of academic strengths and majors, from Business and Political Science to Aerospace Engineering, Ethnic Studies, and more. Collectively, they bring an average of two years of college experience, ensuring that mentees receive guidance based on real university insight.

Our Peer Mentor team is composed of 53% male and 47% female mentors, reflecting balanced representation and diverse perspectives. Mentors also complete a variety of training sessions and professional development conferences, further strengthening their leadership, communication and mentoring skills.

Through consistent engagement, workshops, and one-on-one meetings, mentors foster a community that encourages academic success, belonging and leadership among first-generation students.
