​Vesicle Therapeutics is a Longmont-based biotechnology company developing programmable extracellular vesicles, known as “gectosomes,” to deliver macromolecular therapeutics to intracellular targets. Founded by (CU Boulder Biochemistry), the company builds upon research from his lab focused on engineering vesicles for targeted delivery. Gectosomes are designed to encapsulate therapeutic proteins and nucleic acids, facilitating their delivery into cells and enabling applications such as genome editing and treatment of diseases like cancer and neurodegeneration. Vesicle Therapeutics has received National Institutes of Health (NIH) SBIR and STTR funding to advance its platform, including projects targeting familial hypercholesterolemia and neurodegenerative diseases.
